BAE Systems

BAE Systems is a UK-based multinational arms, security, and aerospace company and currently the largest defence contractor in Europe. Our support for BAE involved consultative support, manufacture, and installation as part of a comprehensive upgrade to their existing blast defences within a UK-based storage facility.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the requirements for this project, our design team worked closely and directly with the client’s internal stakeholders, establishing site-specific requirements including non-standard locking mechanisms in line with L151 regulations, before 3D modelling replacement product design that both improved on existing infrastructure and established blast defence capabilities in excess of those an off-the-shelf solution could have achieved within the client’s requirements.

Like all our bespoke products, rigorous testing of designs followed the manufacturing stage. Factory acceptance tests to ensure precision manufacturing at our UK site matched the agreed design specification established in the consultative phase. 

Installation was required within a live, high security site, requiring a high level of understanding and support of the regulations and requirements needed for our UK install team to access.

Careful collaborative planning between our installation team and the client established a thorough install schedule that ensured the site could maintain their established working schedules, without compromising their security.
